Stephen Kennedy is a native of Atlanta, who attended and graduated from the Marist School, the University of Georgia and the Woodrow Wilson School of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1979. He began is practice specializing as a criminal defense attorney, trying cases in all five metro counties and in the Federal District Court in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1983 Mr. Kennedy expanded his practice and began representing injured and disabled persons, in both personal injury, and workers compensation claims. In 1985 Mr. Kennedy’s practice expanded to included Social Security Disability Claims as well. However, all aspects of disability claims, including long term disability claims are within his field of expertise.

While Mr. Kennedy is no stranger to any criminal matter, his current criminal law expertise is limited to DUI and traffic related cases. Over the past fifteen years the impact of driving under the influence charges have had devastating impact on peoples lives. Often times the consequences of such an offense result in the loss of one’s job, and his ability to earn a living and provide for his or her family. Mr. Kennedy has continued to represent individuals for these offenses for the nearly thirty years he has practiced law.

All four areas of Mr. Kennedy’s practice have limitations on filings. Personal Injury cases are generally subject to a two-year statute of limitation, and Workers Compensation Claims are subject to a one year limitation (although the date of this limitation can vary). Social Security Appeals are to be filed within 60 days of the denial. All cases have some limitation. If you believe you have any viable case, there is no reason to delay.
